1. Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using RecipeDrop ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
RecipeDrop is provided by Overpass Apps Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales.
2. Description of Service
RecipeDrop is a mobile application for iOS and Android that allows users to:
- Import recipes from websites by providing a URL
- Store and organise recipes locally on their device
- Plan meals and generate shopping lists
- Use Kitchen Mode for step-by-step cooking guidance
- Manually enter and edit recipes
The App is provided free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce optional paid features in the future, but the core functionality described above will remain free.
3. User Responsibilities
When using RecipeDrop, you agree to:
- Use the App only for lawful purposes
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Not use the App to systematically scrape, harvest, or bulk-download content from third-party websites beyond personal recipe saving
- Not use the App in any way that could damage, disable, or impair our services
- Not attempt to gain unauthorised access to our servers or systems
4. Recipe Content
RecipeDrop extracts recipe content from third-party websites at your request. We do not claim ownership of any recipe content that you import. The intellectual property rights of recipe content belong to the original creators and publishers.
RecipeDrop is designed for personal, non-commercial use. Recipes you import are stored locally on your device for your personal reference. You should not redistribute, republish, or commercially exploit recipe content obtained through the App.
We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or quality of recipe content extracted from third-party websites. You should exercise your own judgement regarding food safety, allergens, and cooking methods.
5. Data and Privacy
Your use of RecipeDrop is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle data. Key points:
- Your data is stored locally on your device
- No account or personal information is required
- Only the URL you provide is sent to our servers for recipe extraction
6. Local Data Storage
RecipeDrop stores all recipe data, meal plans, shopping lists, and preferences locally on your device. We do not maintain a backup of your data on our servers.
You are responsible for backing up your device to protect against data loss. We are not liable for any loss of recipe data resulting from device failure, app deletion, or failure to maintain adequate backups.
7. Third-Party Services
RecipeDrop uses the following third-party services:
- Google Cloud Run: For recipe extraction processing
- OpenAI: For AI-assisted recipe extraction from unsupported sites
- Google Fonts: For typography rendering
These services are governed by their own terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party service providers.
8. Intellectual Property
The RecipeDrop app, including its design, code, and branding, is the intellectual property of Overpass Apps Ltd. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App without our prior written consent.
The name "RecipeDrop" and associated logos are trademarks of Overpass Apps Ltd.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
RecipeDrop is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Accuracy or completeness of recipe content
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
- Compatibility with all websites
We do not guarantee that all recipe websites will be supported, or that recipe extraction will be accurate in all cases.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Overpass Apps Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:
- Your use of or inability to use the App
- Any errors or inaccuracies in recipe content
- Loss of data stored locally on your device
- Any harm resulting from following recipe instructions or cooking guidance
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
11. Food Safety Disclaimer
RecipeDrop is a tool for organising and displaying recipe content. We are not responsible for the safety, accuracy, or nutritional information of any recipe. Users should:
- Exercise their own judgement regarding food safety and allergens
- Verify cooking times and temperatures independently
- Consult a medical professional regarding dietary requirements or allergies
- Not rely solely on the App for food safety guidance
12. Modifications to the Service
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue RecipeDrop (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the service.
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of RecipeDrop shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
